Contemporary Topics for Nursing Research Papers

As an English professor who teaches nursing students, I’m exposed to contemporary research topics for nursing students all the time.

Nursing topics are plentiful and the web is rife with them at all kinds of respected medical sites. One need only research current approaches to all kinds of current diseases, infections, outbreaks of viruses, such as Ebola, research new methodologies in nursing, psychiatric nursing, pediatric nursing, geriatric nursing—all the disciplines.

Also, Obamacare has changed everything, creating a wealth of positions nationwide as more Americans now have insurance than every before. Therefore, merely addressing the critical need for nurses and nurse practitioners, especially in states like Alaska, where there are few doctors, especially for rural dwellers—that such topics are not only current—they are a very serious problem that needs to be addressed. Has Obamacare, in striving to protect humans, going to ultimately lead to their demise if we don’t hire more nurses to fill jobs once only legally performed by doctors? Time will tell.

Below is a list of all kinds of topics to peruse.

Great Current Topics in Nursing to Write About:

  • The HPV Vaccine: What Age Should I Get My Son/Daughter Immunized
  • The HPV Vaccine: Does it Prevent the Most Prevalent Strains of the Virus?

Conclusion

In closing, it shouldn’t be hard to think of a topic as nursing papers are only assigned to those already studying for the craft—and certainly you have someone you lost to a disease of some type that may have motivated you to become a nurse. Write on current treatments for that—it will help you feel like you’ve done to help someone with this illness. Or, think about the most interesting issues to you in nursing, what you want to accomplish as a nurse—choose something that means to you that you already want to learn about and this will accomplish two purposes—your paper will be more impassioned, and you’ll be working toward becoming a specialist in that area.
